AQUATICS COMPETES AT UIL REGION VII-6A Swim & Dive Meet:

Congratulations to the 14 athletes who competed at the UIL Regions VII-6A Swimming & Dive Meet, January 31-February 2nd.  Overall, the athletes all went lifetime bests or season bests in their events propelling MAC to an overall 14th place team finish out of 26 teams.  “Swimmers of the Meet” were awarded to Nalani Lambert, Makena Cardon, & Colby Mask for their excellence in racing and leading the team to success! Way to go guys!

 

Varsity Letterman cuts were achieved by several athletes.  Congratulations to Rylee Cardon (50 & 100 Free), Makena Cardon (500 Free), Jack Chisholm (Diving), Nalani Lambert (50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Back, 200 IM), & Colby Mask (50 Breast).

MAC Swimming competed in their last competition before the District Meet on Friday at the Winter Invite.  Overall, MAC finished 5th in the combined team scoring with over 10 teams competing at this competition.  “Swimmers of the Meet” were awarded to Cici Babb & Alex Clayton for their hard work and racing!  Way to go guys!

6 Swimmers Compete at Annual TISCA MEET

 

On Friday, 11/30, and Saturday, 12/1, six members of the MAC swimming team competed at Palo Alto College at one of the fastest HS meets in the state of Texas. In order for athletes to compete at TISCA, they must achieve certain qualifying times for each event they compete in. This year MAC took its most individual qualifiers to the TISCA meet in 5 years!

 

Congratulations to Rylee Carson, Belen Gonzalez, Nalani Lambert, Nick Donaho, Colby Mask, and Ethan Morales on their excellent performances at this meet. All athletes were within tenths of their personal best times, or went a season/personal best time, both of which are great signs as we head into our last 8 weeks of training before the District meet.

 

MAC Aquatics next meet will be Saturday, 12/15 at Northside as they compete agains Northside Marshall and New Braunfels. Way to go BRAHMAS!

 

MAC Aquatics Wins Dual Against Northside Stevens

 

MAC Aquatics competed head to head against Stevens HS on Friday, 11/16 and swam away to a victory outscoring Stevens 400-109.  Our Lady Brahmas final score was 203-37, while our Boys final score was 197-72.  A special congratulations to Nick Donaho for achieving his TISCA cut in the 50 Free!  “Swimmers of the Meet” were awarded to Sophomore Jonah Obregon, and Junior Eline Skodje for their hard work in practice and excellence in racing!  Way to go guys!

MAC AQUATICS COMPETES AT FALL INVITE:

 

MAC Aquatics competed against 10 other high schools at the NEISD Fall Invite on Friday, November 2nd.  The Lady Brahmas finished second overall, while the Brahma boys finished fifth. Overall, the team finished 4th and swam away with 65 personal best times! Leading the way for the girl’s team was sophomore, Nalani Lambert who earned her first Varsity Letterman times in two different events as well as her first TISCA cut!  “Swimmers of the Meet” were awarded to sophomores’, Haley Donato & Kyle Roach-Compton for their excellence in training and racing.  Way to go!

MAC AQUAITCS COMPETES AGAINST ALAMO HEIGHTS & NORTHSIDE HARLAN:

Saturday, October 13th, 39 members of the MAC Aquatics Swim & Dive team competed in what is the first of several head to head Dual Meets this season.  MAC defeated Northside Harlan, but came up short against Alamo Heights. Overall, the team is at a good point for this time in the season and we are looking forward to continuing upon that momentum as we compete in our next Dual Meet vs LEE this coming Saturday! SEE RESULTS

 

MACARTHUR SWIMMING GOES TO HEAD TO HEAD AGAINST L.E.E. -

37 members of the MacArthur Aquatics Swim Team competed in a dual meet on Saturday against L.E.E. at the Josh Davis Natatorium.  Overall, MAC came up short with the combined team win with a score of  291-264. The Lady Brahmas defeated the Lady Volunteers while the Brahma boys just fell short of the win.  Congratulations to our “Swimmers of the Meet” – Hayley Rodriguez & Fernando Belmontes for their excellence in training and racing!
