Congratulations to our own Ashton Woods. On Saturday January 31st Ashton competed in the New Mexico Team Invitational at the ABQ Convention Center. Ashton placed first in the Women 400 Meter Dash posting a personal indoor best of 59.2 seconds beating a field of 35 runners from across the nation.
Ashton is a member of the MacArthur Brahma Varsity Soccer Team, Girls Track Team, and MacArthur Orchestra...

Congratulations to Kyle Benson for making STATE in the 100 Free Style. This is a great honor and accomplishment to qualify for the State Swimming and Diving Championships. Kyle competed against the best swimmers in the State of Texas. The meets were held at the Texas Swim Center at the University of Texas in Austin.
Congratulations to Gus Tijerino who represented the Brahmas at the UIL State Wrestling Finals this past weekend.
In his first match, Gus lost a close match 4-5, and moved in to the State Tournament Consolation bracket on Friday night. In his second match of the night, Gus won in overtime and qualified to wrestle in the day #2 of the tournament. On day #2, Gus lost his final match of the season 0-3.
Gus Tijerino is considered one of the best high school wrestlers in the entire state of Texas. Congratulations to Gus, Coach Keresztury, and the entire Brahmas wrestling team for an outstanding season.
Congratulations to Kyle Benson who represented the Brahmas at the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships this past weekend. Kyle finished 14th place in the state championships. That is the 14th fastest in the entire state of Texas.

26-6A Golf Boys and Girls District Results
The Boys and Girls Mac Golf teams gave it their all but came up short. The boys finished in 6th place higher than any recent year. Austin Abrams, Drew Rice, Logan Edwards, Ryan Kaster, Beau Russell and Jesse Lopez represented MacArthur well.

Haley is Co-Captain of the Lady Brahma Track Team. She has been a 4-year letterman, and one of the flagship members of the 4x100m relay, holding the important job of running first leg. Haley is regarded by her coach as a “general” on the track, because of her patience, poise, and ability to steer her team to victory. Haley has been an integral part of four relays which have qualified for the prestigious Texas Relays over the last four years, as well as helping qualify the 4x100m Relay for Area competition. She has earned Academic All-District honors for each year of her high school career, and has served as a mentor for her fellow teammates. Haley is a very special young lady with an immense amount of character and charisma!
Haley’s other accomplishment are: National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Go Green Club, Mac Teach Program, and Yoga Club. She’s been a state qualifier for art, district and area qualifier for track. Haley, will be attending the University of North Texas in the fall of 2015.

Mike McNabb, one of our local sports photographers submitted a photo of MacArthur’s quarterback Josh Jung stiff arming a Marshall defender and was selected as one of 10 by FNF Magazine staff to compete for the 2015 FNF Photographer of the Year. Voting ends on May 1st. You can only vote from your computer, cell phone, or tablet one time.
Mary Cardone competed in the Region IV Tennis Tournament at Mcfarlin Tennis Center with a 3rd place finish in the region. Mary will represent region IV as the 3rd place alternate if needed for the State Tennis Tournament to be held in College Station on May 12-13. Mary Cardone had an extremely tough match against New Braunfels followed by a rematch of the district final against Johnson High School. Mary will continue to work towards her goal and will be returning next year as a Senior. Congratulations Mary!!!!!! Go Mac Go

The Varsity Baseball Game v. Reagan has been rescheduled . The game will be this Wednesday, April 29th at 6 pm at BAC.
