Congratulations to our own Ashton Woods. On Saturday January 31st Ashton competed in the New Mexico Team Invitational at the ABQ Convention Center. Ashton placed first in the Women 400 Meter Dash posting a personal indoor best of 59.2 seconds beating a field of 35 runners from across the nation.
Ashton is a member of the MacArthur Brahma Varsity Soccer Team, Girls Track Team, and MacArthur Orchestra...

Congratulations to Kyle Benson for making STATE in the 100 Free Style. This is a great honor and accomplishment to qualify for the State Swimming and Diving Championships. Kyle will compete against the best swimmers in the State of Texas. The State prelims are on February 20 and the State Finals are on February 21 at the Texas Swim Center at the University of Texas in Austin.
Two of our Brahma Football Players were honored this past week. Dai'jon Williams was honored as 2nd team all-state kick returner by the Padilla Poll.
Steven Cardone was 1st team all-state punter by TheOldCoach /Rivals. We are very proud of these two young men!
On Feb. 6, the MacArthur High School football team participated in an event put on by the United States Marine Corps. The Marines put the players through what is known as the Combat Fitness Test (CFT).
This is a series of fitness tests that our Marines go through semi-annually to assess their own combat fitness. In addition to this test, the Marines spoke to the team and encouraged them to excel not only in athletics but in their academic and life pursuits.
Congratulations to Gus Tijerino who represented the Brahmas at the UIL State Wrestling Finals this past weekend.
In his first match, Gus lost a close match 4-5, and moved in to the State Tournament Consolation bracket on Friday night. In his second match of the night, Gus won in overtime and qualified to wrestle in the day #2 of the tournament. On day #2, Gus lost his final match of the season 0-3.
Gus Tijerino is considered one of the best high school wrestlers in the entire state of Texas. Congratulations to Gus, Coach Keresztury, and the entire Brahmas wrestling team for an outstanding season.
Congratulations to Kyle Benson who represented the Brahmas at the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships this past weekend. Kyle finished 14th place in the state championships. That is the 14th fastest in the entire state of Texas.

Mac advances to the area playoffs and will face Brandeis on 4/2 at BAC East 5PM
Mac tennis participated in the Lee Volunteer Classic this weekend and ended up with a 2nd place finish in girls doubles. Jayci Stewart and Carly Norment played well against Steele in the finals, but just fell short of the championship win.
Mac will play Monday and Wednesday in the freshman and junior varsity district tournament. Thanks again for your continued support of our athletes.
